PROFINET is an industrial Ethernet communication protocol that integrates connected field devices into modern automation systems, enabling the exchange of process, device and diagnostic data.
It supports efficient data exchange between devices and control systems, helping users access more than just the primary measured value. With PROFINET, multivariable devices can provide process values such as mass flow, density, temperature and totalizer settings, as well as device and diagnostic information, over a single cable.
Additionally, PROFINET supports remote access via integrated web servers, while start-up records and on-device device descriptions help simplify commissioning and maintenance.
Endress+Hauser PROFINET devices are certified by the PROFIBUS and PROFINET User Organization (PI) and tested in independent laboratories accredited by PI.
