The customer requirement
In the past, ensuring accurate measurements after pipe bends, fittings, or control valves required an inlet length of at least five pipe diameters for most electromagnetic flowmeters – a significant challenge in close-knit pipelines. Another issue: The chemical storage tanks can be up to 15 meters tall, making on-site commissioning and operation difficult. To test the control system it was necessary to manually fill tanks with water, which took several hours.
Our solution
The compact flowmeter Proline Promag W 10 with 0 x DN full-bore design requires no inlet or outlet runs and enables measurements with high accuracy even directly downstream of pipe bends without pressure loss. Another feature of the Endress+Hauser portfolio is the SmartBlue app to access instrumentation via Bluetooth® connectivity in hard-to-reach places and to support safer maintenance and commissioning. The app can also be used to generate readings to test control sequences.
